We’ve Launched!

This past week marked a significant milestone for me as I launched my book, Wired for Purpose: Why HUMANITY is the Biggest Differentiator in a Digital World. What felt most appropriate was the fact that I got to do
it at SXSW, an annual festival in Austin that blends tech, film, and music to showcase global innovation. Many of you know how profoundly this conference has influenced my professional journey over the last 20 years.
Combining the book launch with SXSW was an incredible experience, akin to merging two delightful ingredients like peanut butter and chocolate. I felt honored to celebrate with friends, family, and former colleagues during three book signings, a panel, and several gatherings.

I want to express my gratitude to a few key individuals. First, Erin Disney, who previously managed events for me at Real Chemistry, stepped up to help organize a 40-50 person book launch party on short notice. She created an outstanding event at Chef Aaron Franklin’s new venue, Uptown Sports Club, and managed all logistics alongside my publisher, Jon Wuebben. The evening was filled with great food, fun, and engaging conversations with those who have significantly impacted my life.
I am also thankful for Jon Wuebben and his firm, Captain of Books, for their partnership and expertise in publishing my book. Sharing the 48 hours of book launch joy with him in Austin was truly special.

A big thank you to my colleagues from “alma mater,” Real Chemistry, including founder and chairman Jim Weiss, chief of staff Danielle Clark-Brown, and the events team of Lindsay Paul and Gabriella Galvan. They invited me to participate in an incredible panel as part of their three days of “must-see” healthcare content, which included a book signing after my session.
I was thrilled to share the stage with my friend, fellow author, podcaster and CEO, Imamu Tomlinson, MD, MBA Tomlinson, along with rockstars Josette Gbemudu of Merck and Oriana Kraft of Femtechnology.org. Our panel focused on healthcare disruptions and it was pretty awesome.

I also appreciate my friend, Rohit Bhargava and his wife, Chhavi for hosting me at their 7-minute multi-author booksigning. It was my first “unboxing” and a perfect way to kick off the event. The Non-Obvious Company knows their stuff when it comes to events. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that it felt appropriate that my first signed copy of the book went to long-time friend, Gloria Bell. I hadn’t seen her in a number of years but she is one of those people that exemplifies all that is good in the world.

There will be many more book signings and parties to come, but these first few felt particularly special!
If you’d like to schedule a book signing/reading, connect with me on LinkedIn (let me know why if we don’t know each other) and we can go from there. And if you’d like a signed copy of the book, ping me there as well and I can send you one for $24.99 (you can pay me via Venmo or Zelle).
